Introducing Jamie Bell, yourBloopers Finalist

Meet one of our finalists of the day. Read on to learn a bit about her and her entry. If you like what you see, comment right here--everybody deserves a pat on the back for their card-making skills. And check back weekdays through April 17 to meet the rest of the yourBloopers finalists.

Jamie has one of those kids who’d rather play with the box—or anything else he can get his hands on—than the toy! Jamie’s a happy stay-at-home mom of two sons who also enjoys being a part of a college ministry with her very funny pastor husband.

Inside:
Time for bifocals yet?
Happy Birthday!

Sandra is one of those angels who can't turn away a stray. Pipurr showed up on her doorstep crying after having been thrown out of a car. Of course, Sandra took him in. In this shot, Pipurr had just jumped for a grasshopper and Sandra's camera was on delay, so she caught the perfect pose. Sandra is a big-hearted sort who's always up for a joke, whether slapstick, daring, or just plain silly. No wonder animals love her in return.

Inside:

Well...

you asked for jewels and fur!
Happy Birthday!

Jennifer loves to travel with friends, and, of course, a camera is never far away. During a trip to New York, the hotel rollaway bed proved to have a mind of its own, resulting in this photo and a lot of laughs. You never know when "unexpected fun" is going to happen, but with Jennifer's fun-loving group of friends and their irrepressible spirits, it's just about a guarantee.

Inside:
Hope your birthday
is the unexplainable kind of fun.
Happy Birthday!

Natalie, a teacher and mom of a three-year-old son and a baby girl on the way, was a little anxious when her son had to be awakened for a family photo. She thought he might not smile for the camera. She liked his actual reaction much better and used this shot for their annual Christmas card!

Always Red-dy to Party

Please forgive the awful pun. Sometimes, the excitement gets the best of me. It may come as no surprise to you, but we love celebrating--birthdays, weddings, babies, Wednesdays, Fridays, any day, really. Last week, one of our team members (ahem, the redhead) had a birthday and, well, we couldn't let it go by without a little somethin' somethin'. Behold, the booth decorations . . .

Take note of the polka-dot cups, made by K.C. Tbone's own hands. She insisted they stick with the red theme. That girl is dedicated to celebrating!

Now, give it up for our redheaded birthday girl!

Lookie Lookie!

We've got real, live card samples, folks. We ordered a bunch of the yourParenthood Mother's Day cards so we could pass them on to their rightful finalists. This is just the way they'll show up in stores, ready to be unpacked and placed in their neat, little slots.

If you look reeeaaally close, you can see the finalists' names on the white pieces of paper peeking up from the top of each card pack. That's what we in card land call the PID (pocket ID). In stores, it goes in the card slot (a.k.a. pocket) behind the cards so everyone can see the card creator. It's almost like seeing your name in lights.

Introducing Erin Ziegler, yourBloopers Finalist

Meet one of our finalists of the day. Read on to learn a bit about her and her entry. If you like what you see, comment right here--everybody deserves a pat on the back for their card-making skills. And check back weekdays through April 17 to meet the rest of the yourBloopers finalists.

Erin says that people—especially those with no sense of humor—make her laugh, so it’s no wonder her daughter’s disapproval of this swinging situation tickled Erin’s funny bone! As a mother and a photographer, Erin is always ready for her little drama queen’s close-up.

Inside:
Perhaps the cruelest of her childhood memories
was one in which she was squished
into a leather contraption hanging from chains
and pushed endlessly back and forth,
back and forth…
Happy Birthday!

Introducing Tim Madison, yourBloopers Finalist

Meet one of our finalists of the day. Read on to learn a bit about him and his entry. If you like what you see, comment right here--everybody deserves a pat on the back for their card-making skills. And check back weekdays through April 17 to meet the rest of the yourBloopers finalists.

Tim’s a freelance writer who wrote the sentiment for this card after some friends sent him this picture taken at a middle school dance. In his free time, Tim daydreams of vacationing with his family “someplace lovely and warm.” So, probably not a trip back in time to his teen years…

Inside:
Don’t think of it
as another year older.
Think of it as a safer
distance between
now and then.
Happy Birthday!

Introducing Patti Holdship, yourBloopers Finalist

Meet one of our finalists of the day. Read on to learn a bit about her and her entry. If you like what you see, comment right here--everybody deserves a pat on the back for their card-making skills. And check back weekdays through April 17 to meet the rest of the yourBloopers finalists.

Patti, a dedicated stay-at-home mom and wife, has a kid who’s always bouncing off the furniture. Literally. They don’t have a trampoline so, Patti’s 14-year-old daughter and her friends leap from couches and beds! Patti caught her daughter's friend in a hilarious mid-air jump and used the photo for the contest.

Inside:
Jumpin’ Jehoshaphat!
You’re how old?
Happy Birthday!

Introducing Katherine Babcock, yourBloopers Finalist

Katherine Babcock is an artist and blogger who has four cats, two hermit crabs, and a box turtle...but her three children are her biggest inspirations. She says she’s “highly skilled in the art of taming wild childebeasts,” and, based on her entry, we believe her.

Party like it’s 1799!
Happy Birthday!

You try getting eight wiggly puppies to pose and see what happens! Cathy found an ingenious way to get the shot and to get a little laundry done. Talk about your multi-tasking! When she’s not laundering puppies, Cathy enjoys lots of mommy time with her young daughter.

Inside:
For your birthday,
I couldn’t decide
whether to get you
a box of chocolates
or help do the laundry.
I decided I could
do both.
Happy Birthday!

Annette may not always give you a straight answer, but it will be funny! A self-described secret superhero—at least to her dogs—Annette amazes and amuses family and friends. Best of all, the fun she has with art and photography more than makes up for her lack of cooking skills!

Inside:
Does this hat make
me look naked?
Happy Birthday!

¡Aye Carumba! What mothers can make you do!! Haley loves to laugh but was not amused a few years ago when her mom had her sit outside where “everyone” could see her for this shot. Haley’s friends tell her she’s funny even when she’s not trying—and she takes that as a compliment!

Inside:
Shortly after winning
the bean burrito eating
contest at her fiesta,
Sally was asked to go
sit outside.
Hope your birthday
doesn’t stink!
Happy Birthday!

John Thomas is a sales manager who watches sports when he isn’t boating, snowmobiling, golfing, or fishing. And from this old photo of himself, we’re guessing he also used to play basketball! When his daughter told him about this contest, he got right into the game.

Inside:
It’s your birthday!
Do something that
makes you happy.
Take Bill, for example.
He enjoyed holding
both balls
simultaneously.
Happy Birthday!

Ann credits her husband and daughters as being the keys to her laughter. “They have a great sense of humor,” she says, “and many times we’ve laughed ’til we cried!” It looks like her dog likes to join in the fun, too. Her salty dog, that is!

Inside:
Speeding your way
so that I can say
Happy Birthday!

When Leah snapped this picture of her friend’s miniature Australian shepherd Maddie, she knew she had a perfect “cover dog” for her card. She also saw a great chance to combine her longtime love of photography with her newfound love of writing.

Inside:
You’re how old?
Wow. That’s like…
dead in dog years.
Try to have a happy
birthday, anyway.

Robin is an artist and at-home mom with a great husband and two beautiful sons who keep her laughing. For her card, she simply looked through photos of her sons and chose the one that spoke to her. No doubt, it said something like, “Pick me! I’m too cute for words!”

Happy Birthday!

Go get yourself a
little something!
Happy Birthday!

Guard cat or feline lush? Either way, Joanne got a kick out of finding her kitten in a beer box. “It's the most adorable picture of Mikey I've ever taken,” she says. When not photographing adorable felines, Joanne enjoys biking with her sons and loves spending time with her family.

Inside:
We’re gonna need
more beer…
Happy Birthday!

When Jamie read about the contest, he knew he wanted to create funny cards for the rest of his life—or at least the rest of the afternoon. As for the photo, Jamie notes that mimes say lots of things without saying them and thinks we could learn a lot from mimes—without learning them!

Inside:
I got you a really
big birthday present,
but it’s invisible.
Happy Birthday!
